The Rose and Crown Public House and Restaurant is a Free House situated in the heart of the village of Ashdon, surrounded by the beautiful North Essex countryside and close to the market town of Saffron Walden, only a ten-minute drive.
The Rose and Crown combines the best of British pub hospitality with individuality, character and charm, excellent food and local wines, beers and craft ales. It is the perfect setting for a laid back yet distinctly memorable dining and drinking experience. For those of you driving, we have an excellent range of non-alcoholic drinks, beers and mixers.

We think our Sunday Roasts are an 11/10, (yes we’ve claimed it!) lashings of our own ‘legendary’ gravy and Yorkshire Puddings that are bottomless, sharing roasts, vegan roasts and enough fine wine to sink a ship! Takeaway roasts are also available, just call us to book yours! Our ‘Roast of the Day’ is available alongside our Pizza Menu with Daily Specials…

We’re Hiring part-time kitchen staff
The Rose & Crown, a charming pub/restaurant located in Ashdon, near Saffron Walden, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our kitchen team
Job Position: Part-Time Kitchen Staff
Availability: Evenings and Weekends (Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun)
Experience: Preferred but not essential
At The Rose & Crown, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences with a menu that showcases the best of local produce.
As a member of our kitchen staff, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our culinary creations, working alongside a talented and passionate team.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with food preparation and cooking
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods
The rate of pay will depend on your experience, ensuring that your skills are recognised and valued.
What we’re looking for:
A love for food and a keen interest in cooking and cuisine
Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not essential
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
